About Deepgrooves

We love music and we love vinyl. For most independent labels something was missing. For years we struggled with the challenge surrounding ordering minimal runs of records that needed to be pressed, waiting lines, complex processes, lack of communication, waste of materials and the lack of quality of the records. These disappointing experiences triggered us to create a better solution and different approach: Deepgrooves was founded late September 2017.

Deepgrooves founded by Chris Roorda, is located in the former prison in Leeuwarden called Blokhuispoort. Chris Roorda is a passionate vinyl collector, DJ, music lover and owner of the long and established Deeptrax Records shop and label. Deepgrooves has a clear vision on how releasing your music on Vinyl should be done differently.

Together with a dedicated team of music enthusiasts that have many years of experience within the music industry, Deepgrooves aims to create a new and unique standard in Vinyl pressing by giving your music the attention it deserves!

• Our Granules (the grains which we melt to make a vinyl record of) is based upon calcium zinc stabilizers instead of the classic heavy metals stabilizers, which are highly intoxicating.
• All our machines are powered by green energy, green gas and solar energy all supplied by local suppliers.
• We work with a new infrastructure that is very energy efficient and meets current energy standards.
• Our factory is almost 100% circular in terms of waste, recycling, and energy.
• We remove the labels from incorrectly pressed records and turn the remaining vinyl parts into recycled granules.
• Next level printing with e.g. polished Tullis Russell Labels.

• Eco-Friendly thick and durable 90 grams FSC certified Inner Sleeves.
• The ink we use on our products and packing is Eco-Friendly & vegan.
• Extensive triple quality control by eye and hand, not by machines.
• Quick delivery within Europe as well as delivery worldwide.
• We ship our packages 100% carbon neutral and larger shipments are sent on a pallet made of recycled wood with biodegradable wrapping/shrink made from 50% sugar cane.
• We are recycling our leftover cardboard and use this for packaging and transporting purposes.
• We team up with companies who use empty spaces on trucks for sharing logistics.
